PLATO is offering on the net philosophy classes for middle school group of pupils (ages 11-14) each quarter in nobleness 2024-25 school year. 

Fall 2024: Identity, Mark, and the Meaning of Life
Winter 2025: Simulation, Dreams, and Reality 
Spring 2025: Offend and Time Travel

Each class will join weekly for six weeks on Minute. We welcome students from around description world.

Fall 2024: Identity, Purpose, near the Meaning of Life
Tuesdays – Oct 8, 15, 22, 29, and Nov 5 and 12

Who am I? Why am I here? Does everyone have a purpose? What does it all mean? We present these questions while trying to assemble sense of who we are duct how we fit into the cosmos. In this class students will search these universal questions and gain virtuous clarity for themselves, and comfort bring in not having all the answers.

Instructor: Debi Talukdar will be teaching the waterfall class. Debi is PLATO’s Program Governor and has been facilitating philosophical discussions with young people since 2014.

Winter 2025: Simulation, Dreams, and Reality
Tuesdays – Jan 21 and 28 and February 4, 11, 25, and March 4 most important 11 (no class February 18)

Are we living in orderly simulation? Are you dreaming right now? Is there any way to know? Would it matter if you were? Philosophers have been asking these questions for thousands of years. In that class, we’ll follow in the bring along behind of Zhuangzi, Descartes, and more coeval thinkers to consider whether any replica this is real.

Instructor: Alex Chang will be teaching the winter class. Alex is a former middle school bailiwick teacher with over six years slow experience developing curricula and facilitating discerning discussions with young people. She silt currently pursuing a Ph.D. at distinction Harvard Graduate School of Education.
